How to update your password for your WordPress user on your website

If you are using WordPress for your website you may want to update the password for one of the users on the website. You can do that without a plugin in the WordPress admin on there.

To update the password of a WordPress user on your website on there

From the WordPress admin left menu you can click on users > your profile
That page has the account management area
There is a new password button you can click on
You may want to use the password it generates or type in your own
If you type in your on we recommend you use a very strong password for it on there
If you updated it you can then click on the update profile button on there

If that works for you it would let you update the password for the WordPress user on there.

If you are using WordPress for your website you may want to update the settings for the website to give a different default role to new users that sign up for your website.

If you want to update the default user role for your WordPress website without using a plugin on there

From the WordPress admin left menu you can click on settings > general
From the general settings page there is a new user default role box you can click on
You can look through the list to find the new user default role you want to set your website to
You can then click on the save button at the bottom of the general settings page

If that works for you it would then update the setting for the new user default role for your WordPress website on there.

How to direct new registered users to a page on your WordPress website without plugin

When you have people register on your WordPress website you may want to redirect those new registered users to a page on your website. If you want to do that without a plugin you can then add this code to your functions.php file. You may want to backup your WordPress website before you make updates to it.

 * Redirect registered users
 *
 * @author WPSnacks.com
 * @link https://www.wpsnacks.com
 */
function do_registration_redirect(){
return home_url( '/done/' );
}
add_filter( 'registration_redirect', 'do_registration_redirect' );

You can then replace the /done/ with the page you want new registered users to go to. Now if that works for you it would direct new registered users to the page you list on there.
