How to generate a .htaccess file for your WordPress website

If you are using WordPress for your website you may want to have the website generate a new .htaccess file. The htaccess file has many uses but one is to tell the server how to behave for some things. For example you can use the htaccess file to have a link on your website redirect to a different link. Your WordPress website has a tool in it that generates a htaccess file.

To generate a .htaccess file for your WordPress website you can click on settings > permalinks then update your settings on that page or click save changes there.
